3 Key Ingredients to Say Good-Bye to Cyclical Dieting

Do you ever feel like there is a magnetic force pulling you towards a diet that you’ve done a thousand times and have had either little success or very temporary results with? Yet you find yourself going back to it time and time again thinking this time will be different.

I will tell you, you are not alone.

This is so incredibly common for most of us (women and men too), yet we just aren’t sure how to get out of the cycle. It feels comfortable, we know what to expect, we’ve done it before. All of these reasons are very valid, but they unfortunately are not helpful. The main reason they aren’t helpful is because the diet you are choosing to return to is not providing you the sustainable, long-term results you are looking for.

Now, most likely it’s because of one or more of the following reasons:

1. Unrealistic expectations – the diet promises quick results

2. Doesn’t fit with lifestyle – too many limitations & restrictions

3. Too many rules – exhausting & confusing to follow

4. Not enjoyable – feel deprived which can lead to binging/cravings

If you take a moment and think about the last diet or maybe current diet you are on, ask yourself how long you plan to be on it, what your plan is after you go off of it and do you want to continue to return to it time and time again? If your answers made you feel frustrated, exhausted and stuck, keep reading.

Most of my clients come to me because they are sick of being on a diet. They don’t want to feel deprived, exhausted by the rules of remembering what they can and cannot eat, but most importantly they want to take a different approach that will actually help them reach their goals in the LONG-TERM.

Below are the 3 KEY COMPONENTS necessary to successfully switch gears to end cyclical dieting and start moving forward in your weight-loss transformation:

✅ Willingness to be honest with yourself – If you aren’t honest with your actions or inactions you will remain right where you are and have a very challenging time moving toward your goals. ✅ Openness to share challenges & desire to find solutions – Why do it alone? People love to help and most likely someone in your life (whether it’s a coach or a friend) has experienced the same challenge you are trying to overcome. ✅ Commitment to showing up & take the steps to keep moving forward – If you don’t put in the effort, who will? Showing up and making your progress a priority will help you not only stay on track, but will keep you engaged and connected with your true why for wanting to make a change.

Sure weight loss includes healthy eating and moving your body, but your mindset can be much more powerful and effective in keeping you going with ease and enjoyment.
